Institutional evaluation - Tallinn University and The Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences were given the EKKA quality mark

The international commissions of accreditation visited Tallinn University and the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences Mainor. Based on the evaluation commissions’ reports, the EKKA Quality Assessment Council decided on 9 June to accredit both, Tallinn University and the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences Mainor for seven years. Both higher education schools were given the EKKA quality mark.


The commissions consisted of higher education school leaders, consultants and specialists from Great Britain, Spain, United States of America, Finland, the Netherlands, Macedonia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The commission credited the high level of internationalisation in Tallinn University’s case, mainly the large proportion of foreign lecturers. According to the commission’s evaluation, several purviews in the University are high-level in international comparison – for example, the Asian cultural studies and film specialities, and the innovation of education.

Estonian Higher Education Quality Agency`s – EKKA’s mission is to promote quality in the field of education and thereby increase the competitiveness of the Estonian society. One of the main functions of EKKA is to carry out institutional accreditation of institutions that provide higher education in Estonia. Educational institutions must undergo institutional accreditation at least once in seven years.
