Admission to two international master’s programmes has started at the University of Tartu

Prospective students can now submit applications to two international master’s programmes starting in February 2024: Entrepreneurship in Economic Policymaking and Disinformation and Societal Resilience. The application deadline is 15 September.

The one-year master’s programme in Entrepreneurship in Economic Policymaking aims to train innovative and enterprising public sector specialists who have up-to-date economic knowledge and who can succeed in the changing society and economic environment, taking into account future work skills. Students will gain diverse knowledge of economic development, management, politics and international trends and strong analytical skills to shape local, national and global policies. Misinformation and hostile information operations pose threats to the stability and functioning of democratic societies. Recognising these challenges, the University of Tartu has created a new master’s programme in Disinformation and Societal Resilience. “As our societies become increasingly digital, so do the threats we face. The University of Tartu is addressing the need for a programme that takes on the challenge of protecting individuals and societies from disinformation designed to polarise and sow confusion,” said Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aune Valk. The programme is for professionals who need to understand information manipulations in the global context, work on strategic communication to build social resilience and deal with risk management in organisations and communities. International applicants can apply to the two international master’s programmes from 1 September until 15 September 2023 in DreamApply. Studies start in February 2024 and last for a year.

Both international master’s programmes are offering tuition waivers for the best applicants. Two tuition waivers are available for Entrepreneurship for Economic Policymaking: one for EU/EEA/Switzerland citizens and one for all nationalities. The Disinformation and Societal Resilience programme offers eight tuition waivers for the citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan and two for Estonians.
