EBS bachelor's programme rated as one of the best in the world!
The International Business Administration Bachelor’s programme in EBS has received an EFMD accreditation for the third time, proving its high position among the world’s 122 best business administration programmes.
“The EFMD accreditation is a strong quality mark which shows that our Bachelor’s programme meets the highest international standards,” says Meelis Kitsing, the EBS Rector. “This will send a clear signal on the high quality of the programme to both Estonian students as well as students from other countries.”
Kitsing adds that it is the third time EBS has received the three-year accreditation. “No other programme in Estonia has been EFMD accredited for this long.”
As the strengths of EBS, accreditors mentioned its small study groups and the focus on the personal and professional development of each student. They also recognised the school’s strong financial position, its good reputation in business communities and the close connection to the start-up ecosystem. Furthermore, the accreditors praised the applicability of taught material, the graduates’ high income and their competitiveness on the labour market, as well as the close relationship between the alumni.
Anto Liivat, Head of EBS Bachelor’s Studies, says that the feedback from the evaluation committee gives them confidence that the school has done things right. “We have worked to make our student body and teaching staff more international, upgraded our internship system and ensured a high quality of education even during COVID-19.”
Liivat believes that topics of digitalisation and sustainability should be covered more extensively in the EBS business administration programme so that the alumni would lead smart and responsible changes in their organisations.
Only 122 business administration programmes in the world have received the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) accreditation. Founded 50 years ago, EFMD is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of business and management education that has 972 institutional members from more than 90 countries.
The international business administration programme in EBS provides students with preparation to work as a CEO or top specialist at international companies or public organisations. The student can specialise in finance and accounting or in marketing and communication. Students and professors from various countries create an international environment during studies. The programme also includes either a semester or a year of studying abroad in an EBS partner university, which helps students broaden their horizons and gives them an invaluable learning experience in a different culture.
